Yoga with Åsa & Sudheesh!

Our favorite event, back again! Come out and enjoy the spring and yoga with Åsa & Sudheesh!

If the weather is nice, we’ll practice yoga outdoors on the dock deck, basking in the spring sunshine. It’s truly magical to soak in the season, the bright rays of life, and listen to the sound of the waves beneath you! If the weather isn’t favorable, we’ll cozy up indoors on the second floor of the Wärdshuset. The classes are led by Åsa Engman & Sudheesh M Balakrishnan.

Program: Start your day with a lovely boat ride out into the archipelago and feel the calm as you settle into yourself and Grinda.

8:35 AM – Waxholms boat departs from Strömkajen (outside Grand Hotel), dock 7
10:25 AM – Arrival at Södra Grinda

Walk up to Wärdshuset for check-in

11:30 AM – 12:45 PM – “Open & Connect” Hatha Flow/Pranayama – Sudheesh
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Lunch break – Today’s Vegetarian/Vegan lunch at Wärdshuset
2:15 PM – 3:45 PM – “Flow into Spring & Summer” Five Elements Vinyasa Flow – Åsa

3:45 PM – Snack with nuts, tea, smoothie & fruit
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Sauna and bath
7:00 PM – 3-course dinner at Wärdshuset
9:30 PM – 10:00 PM – “Sweet Dreams” Yin Yoga – Åsa & Sudheesh

12:30 PM – Waxholms boat departs from Södra Bryggan to Strömkajen/Stockholm, arrival at 2:45 PM
1:10 PM – Boat (Trip 1372) departs from Södra Bryggan to Strömkajen/Stockholm, arrival at 3:05 PM

Accommodation Package: Full board with overnight stay: 2495 SEK per person in a double room (single room surcharge 500 SEK).

Day package with two yoga classes, vegetarian lunch, snack with nuts, tea, smoothie & fruit, and sauna.
Price: 1195 SEK
Boats from Södra Bryggan to Strömkajen, Stockholm, departs at 6:25 PM or 7:40 PM.
Single yoga class: 300 SEK (swish directly to the instructor).

Sudheesh Balakrishnan is known for his big heart and laughter, as well as his gentle approach!

“There may be those who describe my classes as a bit challenging and me as somewhat particular. If that’s the case, it’s probably because I focus heavily on the asana part of yoga practice, and I am committed to helping my students find alignment in each posture to get the most out of their practice.”

Sudheesh has a long list of solid training on his CV and has accumulated many hundreds of learning hours. He was born and raised in the yoga tradition in Kerala, and yoga is in his blood. For him, yoga is a way of life, and with his warm personality and great sense of humor, he shares his extensive knowledge. The classes are taught in English.

Åsa Engman is the woman who gives “many balls in the air” a face. As a yoga instructor, dancer, choreographer, and show artist, she is always in the thick of things!

“I’ve always been interested in the body from a holistic perspective. I’m convinced that the body and soul are interconnected. My job is to activate processes and give the body new energy, so it has the strength to heal.”

Åsa is a trained yoga teacher, physiotherapist, and alternative medicine practitioner, having worked in healthcare for 25 years. Her philosophy and methods are grounded in the teachings of the five elements. With Åsa, you’ll learn to understand what your body and soul need to stay in balance. You’ll also receive tips on how to support your body’s processes and a bit of life wisdom along the way.

Both Åsa & Sudheesh can be found at e2elements, a wonderful little training studio in Vasastan, which Åsa runs with her sister Lena.
