Come and celebrate Midsummer with us!
We celebrate Midsummer in the traditional way with a special Midsummer menu at the Wärdshus and dancing around the maypole!
As always, the maypole will be decorated, and everyone is warmly welcome to pick flowers, make wreaths, and help adorn the maypole on the morning of Midsummer’s Eve.
We kick things off already on Thursday evening with preparations—gathering birch branches and raising the maypole. If you’d like to lend a hand, you are more than welcome to join us.
At the Inn / Wärdshus, tables will be set for both lunch and dinner from 12:00 to 21:00. We recommend booking a table in advance to secure your spot. We will be serving a fixed, specially composed three-course Midsummer menu only, priced at SEK 995 per person.
Bistro Framfickan offers simpler dishes and, of course, their famous Skagen pizza!
At the Grocery Store / Grinda Lanthandel, you can purchase light meals and café items—perfect for a picnic in the meadow.
Grinda Sea Lodge will be open for breakfast, lunch, and a midsummer bbq dinner.
On Midsummers Day, June 20 Midsommardans will celebrate its inaugural season with two outdoor dance performances. A group of international dancers will be performing a mixed program of classical ballet alongside the premiere of new contemporary works inspired by Midsommar. The festival will include a morning movement class, open rehearsals and company class, and an exclusive Q&A with the dancers. Midsommardans is headed by co-founders Emma Wheeler and Lily Peta, both professional ballet dancers and artistic collaborators.

Midsummer Package – Cottage
Celebrate Midsummer at Grinda and stay in a cottage for 2 or 3 nights.
Midsummer Package – Sea Lodge
Celebrate Midsummer and stay at Grinda Sea Lodge for 2 or 3 nights.

Thursday evening:
- At 18:00 We will prepare with birch twigs and dress and decorate the midsummer pole. Everyone is welcome to help!
- 19:30 Raising of the midsummer pole. Strong arms are needed! Welcome and let’s help each other! ☺
Friday, Midsummer’s Eve:
- 08:00 We pick flowers for midsummer wreaths. Everyone is welcome to help pick their flowers on the island.
- 09:00- 11:00 Wreath making. You can buy flowers, tie your own wreath or buy a ready-made wreath.
- 13:30 Midsummer celebration, entertainment led by a troubadour and dancing around the midsummer pole.
In the evening there will be a party with dancing and a DJ playing at the Wärdshuset.
Entrance fee 100 kr.
We start at 22:00 – 02:30.

Swedish Midsummer dance Festival
On June 20th 2026, the day after Swedish Midsummer Eve, two live dance performances will take place on Grinda. One in the day, and a special gala for the endlessly light evening.
Restaurang Grinda Wärdshus / The Inn
Midsummer evening, Friday 12:00 – 21:00 only a specially composed 3-course midsummer menu is served at Grinda Wärdshus for 995 SEK per person. We recommend that you book a table in advance.
The Framfickan has simple dishes and of course its famous Skagen pizza! ( No table reservations, only drop in)
